Coming into the valley from the east, you'll drop into gorgeous East Vail. A residential neighborhood surrounded by the White River National Forest, offering an abundance of hiking trails in the summer and snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice climbing in the winter. East Vail is 5 miles from Vail's two village areas where chair lifts and the gondola can be accessed. Vail's free shuttle system runs through East Vail and will drop off in Vail Village, the hub of activity for the area.
